WIP Wednesday

Its once again time for WIP Wdnesday hosted at Freshly Pieced......

I have made some progress on the commission memory quilt I am working on. All blocks are pieced, and the sashing has been cut.  The sashing is only about 10% complete.....

The hornpipe pants are waiting to be cut out.... and I need to figure out the alterations required.

WIP Wednesday - A number of small projects

Its once again time for WIP Wdnesday hosted at Freshly Pieced....  I have been working on a few projects in amongst helping at my kids schools.  Thankfully the book fair is over.... Scholastic Book Fairs are amazing and we raised enough to put over 250 books into our school.

This weekend was the first dance competition of the winter competition for the BCHDA.  I organize the medals, trophies and prizes for 6 competitions a year that the BCHDA hosts.   This year a new medal was designed by another mother of the organization, and I coordinated the purchase.

Another pair of PJ pants with a few
alterations to the pattern.  Hornpipe
pants muslin #2
Knit from Stash
A black pair of shorts
From a pair of leggings

Memory Quilt Progress
I am working on a memory quilt for another mom from the Girl Guide Group.  She had cut out the fabrics and designed the pattern.  I am sewing the quilt for her.   So far I have the centres of each block sewn.  Next up is trimming them, adding the side sashing.  Then there is red sashing around each block, and a border.   The quilt is a grid of 4x6 blocks.   It was fun finding the Sesame Street fabric in the package....

Old Kilt -- Making Silent Auction Items
Zippered bags in the Embroidery Machine

Today I completed 3 items, mended one and worked on 4 of the 6 blocks from the Memory Quilt.

WIP Wednesday

It's time to link up with WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced. My 11yo needs a new hornpipe costume for highland dance. Using 2 Octobre Design patterns I have completed a muslin.... Now I need her to try them on and see what needs altering.

BTW, I'm glad I'm using this fabric for pj's as there are way to many stripes.

And then I started on Christmas presents.... For the kids....

Image from Confessions of a Plate Addict
I saw these pumpkins before Hallowe'en but never got a chance to make one.  Thinking I should do some with the beige sweater I have set aside for goodwill.....

Today I am knitting scarves.... at Bagpipe and Highland Dancing lessons.

And thinking of items to make with an old kilt for a silent auction.....  If I get 2 donated, I will wash and dry one of them....

November A Lovely Year of Finishes ~ Goals

It's time to link up again.

The goal this month is to piece a quilt top for a friend. Pieces are all cut, but some require interfacing.

And a few other projects that will keep interrupting my goals!
