Summer Challenge -- Two Colour Quilt

A local quilt shop is having a summer quilt challenge....  I thought in June I'd have more time to get it done, so I purchased my fabric to enter... a FQ from the grab bag... I ended up with brown!  ACK!  What was I going to do... so I decided to make a scrap quilt from my browns and then I needed to add another colour... but what?  So I had lots of this finger painted fabric in green.... so I planned to do a rail fence pattern with 5 strips per block and 16 blocks total... While away last week I cut out my strips, then made the 16 blocks.... and two days ago I assembled the top with some green sashing...  But it looked a little plain, so I added some appliquéd geckos.  They are done on the embroidery machine thanks to Embird (and a picture of a gecko!)....Yesterday I started quilting it on the longarm, and finished it this morning.  This afternoon and evening I applied the binding.

I'm scared about entering it... but as my Gram would have said "A blind man would love to see it"...  Tomorrow morning I will drop it off, a day "early"!  OK I don't have the chance of handing it in on the due date - I'm at the highland games!
