During Spring Break I was finally cutting out the background fabrics for my
Star Light Star Bright Quilt. I had decided to do a single 72" block.... Due to a fabric shortage (problem when working with stash) I planned to do some of the HSTs with solid black in the outer ring. The grey is the black background print, and the white is the white background print.
My 11yo claimed the quilt as her project!
Saturday I went to my quilt guild sew in and my 11yo daughter came with me. I made her a list of blocks to sew and helped her pin and trim the blocks. Luckily we have lots of rulers at the guild sew in as I hadn't taken my long ruler.... and even then a yard stick would have been better! Cutting the 19 1/4" block used for flying geese is a long cut!
She worked hard and got the flying geese and HSTs made. She even started putting together one of the corners.
Then when I got home from quilt guild, she asked to continue sewing.... and then Sunday she worked on it again! So in 2 days she had a completed quilt top!!!!
Here is her finished quilt top. I'm still fighting with the minky on the longarm
